Fun at the Holi Festival

Lala finished her India studies last month, but we didn't have the time to go to the really big Holi Festival in Spanish Fork, so we opted for the smaller one closer to home. She had a ball, as you can see her friend did too, as well as Papa and Baby Bird.

a little (grave) site seeing

Or maybe grave sight seeing?  We have been here six months and Ellie was itching to visits some dead people that she admired.  W. W. Phelps (also founder of the University of Utah) is her favorite composer so he was first, but in the process of finding him we also found a few past prophets, including George Albert Smith. Then we got curious and President Young and went hunting for him - he was in a cemetery down the street. A very cool day indeed!!

love these eggs...

I forgot to mention them before, but I LOVE them, so do Super Sam and Baby Bird! I snagged a couple for the nature table. They were made lovingly by MamaWestWind for a trade we did. They are so fun. We will use these in our story telling for years to come!

Happy Easter!!

The Dr. greeted me this morning by poking his head in my door and whispering He is Risen! So I am passing it on. I was so impressed with him, but a little sad too...I heard him earlier in the kitchen eating his breakfast (despite the fact that there were treats waiting in the next room) he is growing up. Six foot tall. Bittersweet.

Papa and I taught Sunday school this morning. These fresh little spirits wanting an age appropriate story about Jesus. We did just that. I found this book at the library...I can't get through it aloud without crying, so I made Papa read it to the little ones. He cried too. A super powerful book and perfect for today.

Finished Sariah's sweater in the wee late hours of last night.  She is so cute. A nut, keeps us busy but cute.

He is Risen!! Pass it on.

Happy Easter.

Twice a year...

We take a complete break. Me being Mormon isn't a secret, but I don't often talk about some of the things we do as an LDS family. Twice a year our church has a general conference and we enjoy quiet time as a family while we listen. The boys often play Legos or do handwork and Lala and I are usually knitting or sewing. This time I did some work during the Saturday sessions, but woke up this morning with resolve to just have a work free day. My Sundays are generally work free anyway, but this weekend is even more special as we listen to the guidance of our leaders. Amazing as usual, truly amazing. I was struggling with a few weighty things before the weekend started and now, with the fabulous counsel given, I am at complete peace. As if our leaders tailored their talks directly to me.

I spent time knitting, resting, preparing.

Tonight we have such a wonderful feast planned. As we are all still lounging in our PJ's, we will gather around the table for this awesome lasagna.

The meal is a favorite here, not like any other lasagna...a homemade cream sauce and the only cheese is a perfect Parm.

Love to all :)
